My wife and I went into the AT&T store in at Baybrook in Webster Texas to cancel my current sprint contract and open a new AT&T contract because they offer better coverage. My wife and I wanted to keep our phones for the time being in order to save our upgrade in anticipation for the new iPhone, we currently have iPhone 5s and feel like its a waste of an upgrade to get an iPhone 5s. We were told by their sales associate that it was possible but we had to acquires unlock codes from our current provider. We obtained the codes from Sprint by paying for an early termination fee. When we then returned to the AT&T store, the sales associate told us that it was impossible to unlock the phone using the codes and suggested that I search online for a method to "jailbreak" my phone or purchase new phone from them. When we then spoke to the manager about the situation, he told us there was nothing to be done for our situation and that we either had to take the offer or leave. At this point we were left without a cellular phone contract and wondering about the good customer service that AT&T prides themselves on having.
