I just got off the phone with a pleasant customer service agent that apparently has no ability to help long term customers and can only read a script. My wife's phone was eligible for upgrade back in July, but we've been waiting to upgrade hers until mine was ready for upgrade, December 2nd. Both of our are having major issues so we've been waiting and waiting. Today, we got the idea that having 5-6 years with AT&T and multiple products including wireless, U-verse cable and internet might make it so AT&T would say, "One month is all you have left to get a cool, working phone? No problem valued customer!!! Let's sign you up for two more years today." Instead I got, "You signed a two year contract and have to fulfill that." We are not interested in the Next plan and just want to buy new iPhones outright with a 2 year contract. So my question is, why doesn't AT&T want us to sign a 2 year contract 1 month early instead of making us wonder if AT&T is the right choice?
