I wanted to share my story with you guys since so many of your are still waiting, and I think that this might help you.
I ordered my iPhone 6 64gb silver from AT&T thorugh their website. I ordered on October 17th and I already have my iPhone 6. I did not wait for AT&T to deliver my phone, though. My estimated shipping date was 11-17 to 11-26, but I didn't want to wait that long, so I ended up calling a lot of customer service representatives at both Apple and AT&T.
After talking to many representatives I ended up just walking into my local Apple store and asking if they had any iPhones. They told me the varieties they had and asked which one I wanted. It was relatively simple, and much less of a headache than going through AT&T.
So, I urge all of you that are still waiting on phones to check and see if your local Apple store has a phone that you want in stock. You can use the website istocknow.com to check or simply call them up and ask. If they have an iPhone in the variation that you want, then it's pracitcally yours. I promise, you don't have to worry about getting sent to the back of the line of AT&T orders.
I cancelled my order through AT&T while I was actually at the store just to be sure I wouldn't end up with two phones. Also, it seems that you can buy iPhones from Apple through both a contract and the Next program, because that is what I did, so you need not worry about that.
If you guys have any questions about any of this then feel free to ask. I hope you all get your iPhones soon
